Do you enjoy watching and listening to birds? Many people do, and there is an amazing variety of species, all with their unique colors, behaviors and sounds. While birds can be nice to observe in their natural habitat, it is an entirely different story when they come out of their world and into yours. Bird droppings are not just unsightly, but they also contain an acid that can eat away at the hardest building materials. Bird homes inside of vents and chimneys can lessen the efficiency of your appliances and even become a fire hazard.

So, what can you do to keep birds away from your home? One important step is to deny them easy access to food. If you try to plant grass, this can allow the birds to feed freely, so make sure to cover them with hay or burlap.

You should also block any entrances to places that can be used as nesting spots for birds looking for a home.
