You can have a clean home, but somehow those ants still find a way into your home. Here are a few things to help you to get rid of those indoor ants.
The first thing you will want to do is try to figure out what is attracting the ants indoors. Cat and dog food dishes will attract ants. As well as any dirty dish or even a drip on a jar can be very appetizing to an ant. If this is your case, first try cleaning up the area and see if the ants move out on their own.
Another thing you can try is spraying the area where you saw the ants with a mixture of one part vinegar to three parts water. This mixture will help to eliminate the scouting ants’ trails. Scouting ants leave behind pheromones so that other ants can find the trails, so you cannot simply just wipe the ants away.
The last thing is to repel the ants from returning to your home. You can do this by spraying the entry points with a product with boric acid, making sure you read the instructions because some products may be harmful to children and pets, or spraying with a natural mixture of peppermint or lavender oil and water.
These few things will help you to get rid of those indoor ants.
