Many people have hardwood floors in their home, and often times get the brunt from moving furniture, dropped items, and other things that can have a tendency to scratch those floors. How can these scratches be removed from the floors though? Well two ways will be discussed in this article.

The first way that you can remove a scratch is begin by rubbing the affected area of the floor with a damp rag of water. You want to remove any dirt or debris from the scratch by gently cleaning the area with the rag. Then by using a wood stain marker, do a test to make sure that the colors match up evenly. If they do, then great! You will then want to apply the marker color to the affected area. Then continue to apply the stain into the scratch by rubbing it with a clean rag soaked with mineral spirits focusing on the affected area. Then viola! Your scratch will no longer be there, and your floor will be renewed!

The second way that you can remove a superficial scratch is by, again, cleaning the affected area with a damp cloth of hardwood floor cleaner. Let the area dry, then gently remove the cleaner from the floor with a damp cloth of water, then as that dries, you can apply a top coating of flooring sealant in order to fill in the scratch. Let it dry, and your floor once again has one less scratch!

These are just a few things that you can try in order to get those annoying scratches out of your wood floor.
