Many people may avoid cleaning their ceiling fans because it seems to make more of a mess than when you started. Here are a few tips to help you clean your ceiling fans with less mess and to make the job easier.
The first tip is to try to clean your ceiling fans twice a year. You can include this job in your spring and fall cleaning. This will reduce the dust buildup and will make it less of a mess when you need to clean the fans.
Another tip is to clean the ceiling fan blades with a pillowcase. Lightly spray the inside of an old pillowcase with either a solution of vinegar and water or with an all-purpose cleaner. Then place the pillowcase onto the blade. As you pull the pillowcase towards you, wipe the blade. Next, if needed, wipe down any leftover buildup with a microfiber cloth.
The last tip is to wipe down your lightbulbs, after they are completely cooled, with a microfiber cloth. Then, if your ceiling fan has any glass globes, detach these and wash them with warm soapy water.
These few tips will help you clean your ceiling fans easier and with less mess.
